Super Bowl LVII Prediction: Chiefs vs 49ers

As we are approaching Championship Sunday, it’s still very difficult to choose who will be the last two teams remaining for the Super Bowl this year. The Cincinnati Bengals enters this week on a 10-game win streak, and the Philadelphia Eagles have had the best record in the NFL throughout the whole season with a 15-3 record. However, I don’t believe any of these teams will make it to the Super Bowl.

Although the Kansas City Chiefs have lost to the Bengals their last three meetings within the past 13 months, I don’t believe that a motivated Patrick Mahomes will lose this game. This is a rematch from last year’s Championship Sunday game, and a team led by Mahomes and Kelce will look to dominate the entire game. Mahomes is currently dealing with an ankle injury which he suffered in the game vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, but he understands what this game means to not just him and his team, but the entire city of Kansas City. To lose back-to-back seasons at home to the Bengals on Championship Sunday would have an impact on his legacy and most NFL analysts and fans would start to look at Joe Burrow as the best quarterback in the AFC for advancing to the Super Bowl twice against Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes is more than likely going to be the MVP this season, but his main goal is to bring another Super Bowl to Kansas City.

In the NFC, I believe this game will be a dog fight between both teams, but ultimately the 49ers will find a way to win and advance to the Super Bowl. Although the Philadelphia Eagles have had one of the most successful seasons in franchise history, Quarterback Jalen Hurtz hasn’t been healthy these past couple of weeks. Although the Eagles defeated the New York Giants with ease in the Divisional Round, it was mainly their secondary that led them to victory. In Hurtz 'last three games, he’s had two touchdowns and three interceptions. On the other side, the 49ers are the hottest team in the NFL with a 12-game win streak and are using their third string quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy was the last pick of the 2022 NFL draft (262nd overall pick) and he’s been the starter for the 49ers since December 11th. His first ever victory was against Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback ever, which the 49ers won 35-7. Purdy has taken over the 49ers offense and already has two playoff victories this year. With both offense and defense being on fire this late in the season, it’s going to be very difficult for even the best team in the NFL record wise to beat this 49ers team.

As a Baltimore Ravens fan, there’s no other team in the NFL that I hate more than the Bengals. I’m also a fan of Mahomes because to me he’s the NFL version of Stephen Curry. They both do such incredible things in their sport that make you just shake your head thinking, “how did they do that?” I also love how Brock Purdy was the last pick of the NFL draft this year but plays like he’s a veteran in this league. He’s got that “dog” in him that makes fans around the league root for him. The Chiefs and 49ers are both underdogs in their games, but I truly believe they will both advance to the Super Bowl and have a rematch from Super Bowl LIV.
