Emiliano Carbajal is 18 years old and in his second year at CSUF, where he’s a first-generation student majoring in Communications with a concentration in Journalism. Coming from a big family with two older brothers and three younger sisters, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones, including his friends and girlfriend. A huge basketball fan, he loves watching the Los Angeles Lakers and attending their games. He hopes to one day become a sports broadcaster, possibly working for a specific team. A fun fact about him is that, thanks to an early college program, he graduated high school with an associate’s degree and is now nearing his senior year at CSUF.

Alexis Chavez is in his fourth year at California State University, Fullerton, majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. As a commuting student, Chavez has enjoyed his time at California State University, Fullerton, and the new experiences the school and city bring. Chavez is 21 years old and lives in Santa Ana. Sports is one of their favorite hobbies. Chavez enjoys playing and watching volleyball, soccer and basketball. Music is another hobby Chavez enjoys, and he plays the 6-string, 12-string and electric guitar. One of their favorite music artists to listen to in their free time is The Weeknd.

Goddess DeVinney is a Communications Major with an emphasis in Public Relations minoring in Human Communication Studies at California State University, Fullerton. Currently, Goddess is working in an accounting department for a traffic control company. After graduating, Goddess would like to attend beauty school to be an esthetician. She aspires opening her own business in the future. When she has free time from her academics and her work obligations, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys various outdoor activities whether it’s exploring, hiking or simply enjoying a serene moment outside. However, her favorite activity includes self-care as she finds it deeply rejuvenating and believes it is essential to her wellbeing.

Emily Escobar, a 22-year-old first-generation Latina college student, is a senior at
Cal State Fullerton. She is majoring in communications with an emphasis in public
relations and minoring in marketing. As Vice President of professional
development for PRSSA, Emily has gained valuable experience that enhances her
career prospects. Her internships include positions at NVIDIA and Amazon, and
she is set to explore brand marketing and strategy at NBCUniversal. Outside her
professional pursuits, she enjoys exploring cafes, film, photography and thrifting.
Emily’s passion for helping others and her ambitious goals will promise her great
success.

Klayna Gaxiola is a 23-year-old PR major at CSU Fullerton, having transferred from Cerritos College two years ago. As a first-generation Mexican-American, born and raised in Downey, Klayna is the youngest out of two. Her passion for PR aligns with her dream of working in outreach for beauty and fashion brands, with a particular interest in brands like Sephora and celebrity fashion lines such as Kim Kardashian’s Skims. Outside of her academic and career pursuits, Klayna enjoys vlogging, editing, hiking at Runyon Canyon, working out and discovering new coffee shops. She’s also an avid podcast listener, finding inspiration and motivation in each episode.

Janet Guereca is a 25-year-old Hispanic student attending California State University, Fullerton. Though she is a full-time student majoring in communications with a concentration in journalism, she is also a part-time retail employee. When she is not studying or working, Janet likes to wind down by listening to some of her favorite artists like Maluma, Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. Being an L.A. native, one of her favorite hobbies are going to Dodgers games. Because of her love for the Dodgers and sports in general, Janet wants to enter the sports industry after graduating and find her career doing something in that field.

John Herbold was born on New Year’s Day in 2001 in Orange County and has spent his entire life living there. John has one older sister and he lives with his two parents. He enjoys currently being enrolled at Cal State Fullerton and will complete his major in Spring 2025. John’s personal interests are anything relating to the automotive field, and before enrolling at CSUF he wanted his career to be assembling engines. He is in the CSUF car club and enjoys working on his car, as well as spirited driving. John plans to work at the PR department of an automaker or a racing team. He says it would be an excellent position due to it being a blend of two things he finds interesting.

Chelsea Huitron is a senior majoring in communications with an emphasis in Public Relations
and minoring in Sociology. She works at Brandy Melville and is currently interning with a PR
agency, Shout PR. In her free time, she likes to journal, go on runs and shop with her friends.
Although she isn’t 100% sure what she wants to do once she graduates in Spring 2025, she
sees herself possibly continuing her academic career and getting a master’s degree in
communication. Chelsea recently came back from her study abroad trip with CSUF and fell in
love with the city of Barcelona. She aspires to go back to Barcelona and spend next summer in
Europe all over again.

Macie Johnson is a 4th year at California State University of Fullerton. She is a communication major with an emphasis in public relations marketing, but interestingly enough wants to become an elementary school teacher. She currently works as a school aide. Macie is from a city near the Fresno area called Visalia. She came down to Fullerton for college. At college, she joined a sorority called Alpha Chi Omega. She has been a part of Greek life during all of her four years at CSUF. Macie enjoys going to the gym and taking walks. She also tends to take workout classes.

Giselle Medina, a sophomore at Cal State Fullerton, is majoring in Communications with a concentration in Journalism. Originally from Vancouver but raised in Los Angeles, Giselle aspires to become an international correspondent. She is a first-generation Filipino and enjoys hiking and ice skating in her free time. This semester, Giselle joined the “Daily Titan” as an assistant editor, where she spends her Sundays editing articles and pitching new ideas. She has also recently taken an interest in multimedia and video editing. In addition to her editorial role, Giselle is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), where she continues to hone her skills and connect with professionals in the field.

Bryanna Nguyen is a Communications major with a public relations concentration and a marketing minor at CSUF. She’s a first-generation student and an Orange County native. On campus, she’s heavily involved in CSUF’s Public Relations Society of America chapter. With graduation excitedly sitting on her horizon as Spring 2025 quickly approaches, Bryanna has aspirations toward becoming a marketing strategist. When she’s not hitting the books, you’re likely to find her at a Pilates studio or on a hike. She loves being active, but do not be misled. Being a “foodie” is central to her as she enjoys trying new treats and bites on her own and with loved ones. Perhaps her three dogs are not among the loved ones whom she’s able to share her food finds with, but they’re her beloved babies nonetheless as a proud dog mom of two golden retrievers and one German Shepherd.

Emeka Ogbatue is 20 years old and from the Inland Empire in Sunny Southern California. He will be a graduate by the end of the current semester we are in, Fall 2024. Emeka is majoring in Communications with a concentration in journalism and a minoring in African American Studies. Emeka is part of the “Daily Titan,” where he currently fulfills the role of assistant copy editor and was the assistant opinion editor for the previous two semesters. During his downtime, he enjoys lifting weights and playing basketball. As a Christian, Emeka doesn’t believe in luck but considers prosperity as blessings!

Marcus Olvea is 26 and in his last semester at California State University, Fullerton. He will graduate at the end of the year with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. One thing he learned about himself as he completed his courses is that he enjoys anchoring and reporting more than producing. Olvea’s experience includes broadcasting for ESPN through his internship with Titans Sports Network. Besides being a student, Olvea works part time at Knott’s Berry Farm. He enjoys hanging out with friends when he is not at school or working. Some of his hobbies include working out and playing basketball.

Daniela Ortiz is a 22-year-old, first-generation student from Baldwin Park, and is in her last semester as a bachelor’s student at Cal State Fullerton. She is a Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations. She is currently a lab analyst for health and wellness brands, and she hopes to get into account management for the company. She also makes and sells rugs. Her long-term goal is to become a PR representative for health and wellness for a top brand. She enjoys being active by going to the gym or running. She loves to hang out with her friends and family, specifically shopping and working on DIY projects.

Juliana Marinero, 21, is from Pomona. She is currently studying at Cal State Fullerton to achieve her degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations. She is also minoring in marketing along with pursuing a digital media certification. Juliana is currently interning for a behind-the-scenes marketing firm in hopes of pursuing this as a life-long career. More specifically, she hopes to work at a firm that specializes in beauty or wellness. In her free time, Juliana enjoys going on walks with her dog, hiking, playing tennis and doing yoga. Being outside is where she is the happiest.

Jonathon Mansour is a 20-year-old student studying at California State University, Fullerton. He is currently in his third year as a communications major emphasizing in journalism. Mansour commutes to school from his hometown of Eastville and has gotten quite involved on the campus. He is a board member of the Lebanese club along with an intern for Titan Athletics, both at CSUF. After graduating, Mansour hopes to work in the sports industry as a sports podcaster or a play-by-play announcer. This summer, Mansour got experience working in the sports field as a reporter for the 2024 Paris Olympics along with other CSUF Study Abroad students.

Alonso Nunez, a 23-year-old Communication major with a concentration in Public Relations, chose this field because of his passion for social media and interacting with people. Growing up in Baldwin Park, he juggles his full-time studies with hobbies like video games and anime. Alonso looks up to his father, who came to the U.S. at a young age and worked hard to achieve the American Dream. His father's perseverance has been a significant source of inspiration for him. Alonso is known for his talkative and outgoing personality. “Comparison is the thief of joy,” is a quote Alonso finds uplifting.

Connor Raleigh is a fourth-year communications journalism major at Cal State Fullerton. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing sports with friends. It is one of his favorite ways to bond with his friends. The Los Angeles Chargers are his team of choice, a connection sparked when he was a kid by his dad. Looking ahead, Connor aspires to work in social media marketing for a sports team, with his ultimate goal being to work for the Chargers. His love for sports and social media marketing drives his career ambitions, and he is dedicated to turning his passion into a profession.

Neria Salinas, a communications major at Cal State Fullerton, serves in more ways than one. Before coming to CSUF and working for the “Daily Titan” as a staff writer, Neria served in the military for four years — a place where she would master her ability to understand and work with multiple perspectives. Now a senior, Neria says her reason for becoming a journalist stems from a love of people, a trait learned from quality time with her family and from her time serving. Neria graduates in Fall 2024. She says she expects to use her rigorous final semester of classes into the professional world to continue learning about people and servicing them.

Ximena Sanchez is a senior at California State University, Fullerton, currently in her last semester. She is also gaining valuable experience through an internship with a fashion PR agency, focusing on communication in public relations. Ximena will be turning 23 in October. She resides in Los Angeles and enjoys watching horror movies and Marvel movies. Ximena is a proud owner of three male cats named Shippo, Kira and Obi. In her free time, she loves going to thrift stores. Ximena is passionate about her field and is excited to embark on her professional journey. She is dedicated to honing her skills and making a significant impact in the world of public relations.
