Manny Machado to exercise trade option after this season.

4 years after being welcomed to “SLAM DIEGO,” Manny Machado, a well-known exceptional baseball player from the San Diego Padres Baseball team, has decided to opt out of the Padres deal after declining a 105 million dollar extension. The star player has been a critical contributor to the Padres' success over the past few years. It is important to note that Machado has hit .285 with an OPS of .837 since joining San Diego in 2019. Machado has established himself as one of the top defensive third basemen in the league, earning four Gold Gloves.

Machado's leadership and production have been a huge part of the Padres' success. Machado has been a great teammate and leader both on and off the field. Machado was a significant part of the team's run to the playoffs in 2020. As he enters free agency, Machado's future is uncertain. But wherever he ends up, he will leave an indelible mark on the Padres and the city of San Diego. It is no doubt that Machado will be remembered for his exceptional on-field talent and for being an exemplary leader and teammate. Once a Padre, always a Padre.
